Joshua Tree Highlands House

These photographs were taken during the Joshua Tree Highlands House Artist Residency, a program offering artists a house in which to live and work, located 2 miles from the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The Joshua Tree is so dynamic; a twisted knotty skeleton stretching out after a great desert nap. Also, outside of the park are abandoned Homesteads which still stand on the edges of old Rte 62. They are incredible old relics from the last recipients of the Small Tract Act of 1938.
