Whiskeytown National Recreation Area

These photographs were taken during two artist residencies at Whiskeytown, in 2008 and 2009. During Helene's 2008 visit, the park was engaged in prescribed burns which raged out of hand following major forest fires a few months prior. Whiskeytown is a gorgeous park with waterfalls, surrounded by historic gold rush towns.
